390033 City of Glasgow derailed at speed near Grayrigg at about 2010 on Friday 23 February while working 1S83, VWC's 1715 Euston - Glasgow. Mercifully, casualties were comparatively light, with only one fatality - the first passenger fatality on the northern WCML in over a century. Tight security meant that there was no public access to the site, but here are a few photos of TV reports.

Early in 2007 the Railway Touring Co ran two steam tours right round the Cumbrian coast - the first for many years - behind 71000 Duke of Gloucester. Here are four photos taken on 24 February of the CCP leaving Carnforth in pouring rain, and seven photos - all I could manage, as photo opportunities for passengers were few and far between - on 10 March.

30 pictures starring 34067 Tangmere. The Railway Touring Co had wanted Tangmere to work the tour over the LSWR main line from Waterloo to Exeter and back, but gauging problems at Sherborne meant that Tangmere ran only as far as Westbury, where 67015 took over. As I had not been to Westbury before, I skipped the run to Exeter, and there are some shots of the current Westbury scene.
